O presente volume resultou do estágio curricular no jornal diário Correio da
Manhã, que decorreu entre 7 de março e 6 de junho de 2022. Durante o estágio colaborei,
como jornalista estagiária, na produção de conteúdos escritos e multimédia na secção
Online.
Este relatório de estágio integra uma descrição e análise crítica dos três meses de
estágio e um exercício investigativo que resulta da experiência profissional adquirida. O
objetivo da pesquisa é contribuir para uma reflexão sobre a representação mediática de
mulheres com cargos políticos em Portugal, através da análise de peças jornalísticas
publicadas no CM. A questão de partida que orienta a pesquisa é: em que medida a
representação mediática da política tende a ser genderizada nas peças?
Apesar de novas medidas legislativas para a igualdade de acesso a cargos
políticos, a masculinização da política e a invisibilidade das mulheres na política e nos
média continuam a persistir na sociedade portuguesa.
A estratégia metodológica concentra-se em pesquisa de natureza documental,
utilizando as seguintes técnicas de recolha de informação: leitura e análise crítica da
literatura em áreas como os estudos feministas dos média, movimentos feministas,
legislação nacional; e análise de conteúdo temática de 366 peças (que retratam as
protagonistas com cargos políticos na Assembleia da República e Governo
constitucional). Essa análise está organizada em três dimensões de análise: estrutural,
textual e de imagem. Concluiu-se que os estereótipos de género continuam a persistir,
resultando na genderização da mulher na política, nos média e na sua sub-representação
mediática.
ABSTRACT: The present volume is the result of the curricular internship at the daily newspaper Correio da Manhã, which took place between March 7th and June 6th, 2022. During the internship I collaborated, as a trainee journalist, in the production of written and multimedia contents for the Online section. This internship report integrates a description and critical analysis of the three months of internship and a research exercise that results from the acquired professional experience. The aim of the research is to contribute to a reflection on the media representation of women in political positions in Portugal, through the analysis of journalistic pieces published in CM. The starting question that guides the research is: to what extent does the media representation of politics tends to be genderized in the articles?. Despite new legislative measures for equal access to political posts, the masculinization of politics and the invisibility of women in politics and the media continue to persist in Portuguese society. The methodological strategy focuses on research of a documental nature, using the following information gathering techniques: reading and critical analysis of literature in areas such as feminist media studies, feminist movements, national legislation; and thematic content analysis of 366 pieces (which portray protagonists holding political positions in the Portuguese Parliament and Constitutional Government). This analysis is organized in three dimensions of analysis: structural, textual and image. It was concluded that gender stereotypes continue to persist, resulting in the genderization of women in politics, in the media and in their media under-representation.
