Abstract(s)
Os “Cinco versos sobre os passos do cantochão de Ave maris stella” são um conjunto
único de peças dentro de Flores de Musica. Na obra de Manuel Rodrigues Coelho, estes
versos são os únicos compostos sobre fragmentos de um hino. Coloca-se a questão de
conhecer a utilização desses fragmentos no desenvolvimento do discurso musical nestes
versos. Este relatório de projecto artístico analisa, tematicamente, os cinco versos sobre
o Ave maris stella. É igualmente feita uma comparação entre alguns elementos do
prefácio de Flores de musica e capítulos do tratado espanhol Arte de tañer fantasia, de
Frey Tomas de Santa Maria. O resultado do cruzamento entre os dois documentos é
aplicado ao longo do concerto que integra este projecto.
ABSTRACT - The “Cinco versos sobre os passos do cantochão de Ave maris stella” are a unique set of pieces within Flores de musica. In the work of Manuel Rodrigues Coelho, these are the only verses composed on fragments of a hymn. The subject is to acknowledge how these fragments are used in the development of the musical speech. A thematical analysis of the five verses of Ave maris stella is included in this report. In addition, elements of the Flores de musica preface are compared with selected chapters from the Spanish treatise Arte de tañer fantasia, by Frey Tomas de Santa Maria. The result of crossing these two documents is applied throughout this project’s concert.
