A presente dissertação tem como objetivo aprofundar os conhecimentos existentes sobre a Inteligência Artificial, ajudando a perceber de que forma a Inteligência Artificial é percecionada pela sociedade à data desta dissertação e a entender também se é possível justificar a forma de pensamento da sociedade em relação a este tema. Ao longo deste estudo, foram consolidados e desenvolvidos conceitos sobre o grande mundo que é a Inteligência Artificial, principalmente durante a revisão de literatura. Após uma revisão de literatura completa, foi elaborado um questionário com a finalidade de entender o que pensam as pessoas acerca deste tema e de que forma percecionam variados aspetos da Inteligência Artificial, onde foi concluído que existe uma alta perceção da sua existência, alguma desconfiança quanto à mesma, principalmente ao nível da privacidade, baixo receio quanto à perda de emprego e elevada confiança na mudança das funções desempenhadas por parte da amostra na sua vida profissional. No questionário foi utilizada a escala de Likert para quantificar entre 1 e 5 aquilo que a amostra considerou quanto à sua concordância com a afirmação apresentada. Após a obtenção de dados, os mesmos foram analisados a partir da utilização de estatística descritiva, em que foi efetuado um estudo da amostra, dentro da qual foram procuradas certas respostas que permitiram concluir algo mais quanto à forma de ver a Inteligência Artificial à data deste projeto de investigação. Foram ainda procurados padrões demográficos que permitissem relacionar os mesmos com determinadas respostas, dentro dos quais algumas conclusões foram retiradas, apesar de não terem sido o foco principal do questionário e desta dissertação. Na parte final desta dissertação foram apresentadas algumas conclusões, lacunas presentes neste trabalho e ainda sugestões para futuras investigações, ajudando futuros investigadores a realizarem melhores trabalhos de investigação mais atualizados.
This dissertation aims to deepen existing knowledge about Artificial Intelligence, helping to understand how Artificial Intelligence is perceived by society at the time of this research project and also to understand whether it is possible to justify society's way of thinking on this subject. Throughout this study, concepts about the great world that is Artificial Intelligence were consolidated and developed, mainly during the literature review. After a thorough literature review, a questionnaire was drawn up with the aim of understanding what people think about this topic and how they perceive various aspects of Artificial Intelligence, where it was concluded that there is a high perception of its existence, some distrust of it, especially in terms of privacy, low fear of job loss and high confidence in the change of functions performed by the sample in their professional lives. The questionnaire used a Likert scale to quantify between 1 and 5 the extent to which the sample agreed with the statement presented. Once the data had been obtained, it was analysed using descriptive statistics, where a study of the sample was carried out, within which certain answers were sought that made it possible to conclude something more about their way of seeing Artificial Intelligence at the time of this research project. I also looked for demographic patterns that allow to relate them to certain answers, from which some conclusions were drawn, although this was not the main focus of the questionnaire or this dissertation. The final part of this dissertation presents a conclusion, some gaps in this work and some suggestions for future research, helping future researchers to carry out better, more up-todate research.
