Com o aparecimento da internet, na última década do século XX, o jornalismo
tem vindo a desenvolver-se na esfera digital, surgindo o conceito de jornalismo digital
ou ciberjornalismo, com características próprias que se centram, essencialmente, no
cruzamento de texto escrito, imagem e som.
As potencialidades da internet apresentam-se como novas oportunidades para os
media, em geral, e para o jornalismo em particular. Ou seja, a internet, pelas suas
características, permite que os órgãos de comunicação social produzam conteúdos em
diversos formatos. Deste modo, pretendemos mapear a evolução do ciberjornalismo em
Portugal para sustentar a análise das mutações ocorridas no Jornal de Notícias e no
Diário de Notícias, visto terem sido os primeiros jornais diários portugueses a criar uma
edição digital.
ABSTRACT: With the advent of the internet in the last decade of the XX century, journalism has been developing in the digital era, the emerging concept of digital journalism or cyberjournalism, with its own characteristics that focus essentially the crossroad of written text, image and sound. In general the potentialities of the internet are presented as new opportunities for media and from journalism in particular. By its characteristics, the internet allows mass media to produce content on different formats. In this way, we intend to map the evolution of cyberjournalism in Portugal to support analysis of mutations occurring in the Jornal de Notícias and the Diário de Notícias because they were the first Portuguese daily newspapers to create a digital edition.
