A arte urbana tem despertado o interesse da sociedade em geral por um modo de expressão que ganha
protagonismo na paisagem urbana das cidades, tornando-as numa espécie de galeria aberta. A criatividade
e o impacto visual de diversos murais pintados um pouco por toda a cidade são reflexo de um movimento
artístico e cultural que tem conquistado uma forte visibilidade pública. Neste artigo pretendemos analisar a criação da Unidade Curricular Arte Urbana, no âmbito do ensino superior artístico, tal como a prática pedagógica desenvolvida no decurso desta eletiva teórica-prática, oferecida pela Licenciatura em Artes Visuais e Tecnologias da Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa. Abordaremos as metodologias de ensino-aprendizagem aplicadas nesta disciplina, bem como os conteúdos disciplinares ministrados, entre os quais se destaca o projeto de conceção e produção de um mural para o espaço urbano.
Urban art has aroused the interest of society in general for a mode of expression that takes center stage in the urban landscape of cities, turning them into a kind of open gallery. The creativity and visual impact of several murals painted all over the city are a reflection of an artistic and cultural movement that has gained a strong public visibility. In this article we intend to analyze the creation of the Course Unit Urban Art in the context of higher artistic education, as well as the pedagogical practice developed in the course of this theoretical-practical elective, offered by the Degree in Visual Arts and Technologies of the Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa. We will approach the teaching-learning methodologies applied in this discipline, as well as the disciplinary contents taught, among which the project to design and produce a mural for the urban space stands out.
