Abstract(s)
Este relatório de estágio procura analisar a forma como o crime é noticiado no
Correio da Manhã TV, o meio de comunicação português com maior presença de crime
no seu conteúdo noticioso, critério que foi identificado com base nos valores-notícia.
Neste órgão, as notícias de crime são tratadas de forma dramática e emotiva, o que lhes
permite captar a atenção do público e, consequentemente, alimentar alguma tendência
humana para o voyeurismo. Os espectadores mais voyeuristas apresentam maior
apetência para assistir a programas cujo conteúdo privilegia o interesse do público, em
vez do interesse público que norteia o jornalismo de referência (Bolin, 2018).
O estudo baseou-se na análise quantitativa e qualitativa do noticiário do meio-dia
do Correio da Manhã TV, que é apelidado de “CM Jornal Hora de Almoço”, de 13 de
fevereiro de 2022 a 13 de março do mesmo ano, o qual teve a observação e participação
da autora deste relatório. A análise de conteúdo foi complementada com pesquisa
documental sobre o tema e não documental, a partir de entrevistas exploratórias semi diretivas realizadas aos jornalistas da editoria que aborda o crime na CMTV (secção
Portugal). Deste modo, pretendeu-se compreender se, de facto, a maioria das notícias que
estes meios produzem é sobre crime e, num certo sentido, que efeito exerce junto da
audiência.
ABSTRACT: This internship report seeks to analyze how crime is reported on Correio da Manhã TV, the Portuguese media outlet with the highest presence of crime in its news content, a criterion that was identified based on news values. In this television station, crime news is treated in a dramatic and emotional way, which allows them to capture the public's attention and, consequently, their voyeurism. The more voyeuristic viewers are more likely to watch programs whose content privileges the public's interest, rather than the public interest that guides mainstream journalism. The study was based on the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the midday news from Correio da Manhã TV, which is called “CM Jornal Hora de Almoço”, from February 13, 2022 to March 13 of the same year, which had the observation and participation of the author of this report. The content analysis was complemented with documental and non-documentary research on the subject, based on semi-directive exploratory interviews carried out with journalists from the section that addresses crime on CMTV (Portugal section). In order to understand if, in fact, most of the news that these media produce are about crime and what are, in a certain way, the effect in the audience.
