Abstract: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): chronic inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract characterized by recurrent ulceration. IBD prevalence exceeding 0,5% of the population in westernized countries. IBD manifests into several intestinal and extra-intestinal symptoms, mainly related to inflammation. IBD includes Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative colitis. Aim of the study: evaluate the efficacy of new drugs in IBD through an animal model of TNBS-induced chronic colitis.
