dc.description.abstract | Purpose: The signal intensity of the gastrointestinal fluids may overlap the anatomic structures and mask the pathologies. Some trials approach the administration of natural oral contrast, applied in Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) with the purpose to mitigate the tissues of the background. Through the administration of an oral negative contrast-black tea, our aims were to optimise the MRCP acquisition protocol maximising the evidence of anatomical structures, regarding the suppression of the gastrointestinal tract, and to develop methods to minimize the artifacts caused by respiratory motion. Methods and Materials: Ten healthy subjects underwent to an Avanto® MRI system [Siemens; Healthcare; Erlangen; Germany]. Without moving the participant's position was applied a 3D T2W heavy weighting sequence after the ingestion of 300 ml of sugared black tea infusion. A whole-body synergy coil-16 channels were used. | pt_PT |
