dc.description.abstractO exercício de ler não se confina necessariamente em si próprio, desterro solitário na sua individualidade. Acto intrinsecamente criador, o sentido pleno da leitura é também social: envolve o outro. As práticas de leitura podem, então, desempenhar para leitores e mesmo para não-leitores um papel fundamental no seu sentido de posicionamento identitário e no seu sistema de relações. Perspectivando a leitura enquanto dado social interpretável, procura-se aqui dar breve conta de alguns tópicos que a reflexão no quadro mais amplo das ciências sociais tem produzido desde a década de setenta do século passado, incluindo as dificuldades e os riscos enfrentados pelas propostas apresentadas.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractABSTRACT - Reading does not necessarily confine in itself, solitary exile locked up in its individuality. An intrinsically creative act, reading is also social, therefore involving the other. Thus, reading practices can play a fundamental role for readers, and even for non-readers, in terms of their identity positioning, and their relationship and interaction system. Focusing reading as a social element that can be interpreted, the main intention of this article is to render a brief account of some topics of reflection that have been produced within the broader frame of the Social Sciences since the 1970s, including in such an effort the difficulties and the risks faced by the presented theoretical proposals.pt_PT
