Abstract(s)
Na sequência do reconhecimento da importância da adequabilidade da
tecnologia aos seus utilizadores e do desenvolvimento de interfaces que lhes
permitam uma interacção agradável, simples e intuitiva, foi desenvolvida a presente
dissertação de mestrado. É pois seu objectivo procurar, verificar e retratar a ligação
entre duas áreas que apesar de aparentemente distintas se encontram intimamente
correlacionadas: os processos cognitivos e a tecnologia. A verificação da relação
entre as duas variáveis tem como elemento de análise a usabilidade da tecnologia
permitida pelo desempenho dos processos cognitivos.
Para proceder à realização do estudo, foi seleccionado um software, na área
do planeamento de campanhas, Planview, sobre o qual, foi desenvolvido um
modelo hipotético em que os processos cognitivos, percepção, atenção e memória,
são considerados como passíveis de influenciar a interacção com o software. Para
verificar a viabilidade do modelo desenvolvido foram desenvolvidos e aplicados dois
elementos, um questionário e um teste de usabilidade.
Através dos resultados obtidos foi possível verificar a viabilidade do modelo
desenvolvido, que estabeleceu que de facto a percepção e a memória, são
passíveis de influenciar a usabilidade de uma interface e ainda obter resultados
sobre a sua relação face a outros processos cognitivos como o caso da
aprendizagem.
ABSTRACT: The present thesis was developed following the recognition on the importance of the suitability between technology and its users and on the development of an interface that allows a simple, pleasant and intuitive interaction. Therefore, it aims to search, verify and depict the bond between two disciplines, cognitive processes and technology, that in spite of being apparently distinct, they are closely correlated. The relationship checking between these two variables has as element of analysis the technology usability allowed by the performance of the cognitive processes. In order to perform this review’s execution, it was selected a software, in the media planning area, Planview. In this review was developed an hypothetical model in which the cognitive processes, perception, attention and memory, are considered as capable of influencing the interaction with the software. To verify the model’s viability, there were developed and applied two elements, a survey and a usability test. By the obtained results, it was possible to verify the model’s viability that establishes that in fact the perception and the memory are likely to influence the interface usability, and to obtain results about its relation to other cognitive processes such as learning.
