Para Alain Resnais a memória apresenta-se como algo amplo, onde estão envolvidos outros processos da mente humana, como a imaginação e a consciência. A realidade e a fantasia estão intimamente ligadas na relação entre presente e passado que o realizador pensa e apresenta nos seus filmes. As expressões de memória tomam, assim, várias formas e são configuradas cinematograficamente de modos distintos por
Resnais. Esta dissertação visa analisar e refletir sobre a expressão da memória criada por Alain Resnais em alguns dos seus filmes. Da mesma forma procura-se compreender o modo como as configura cinematograficamente.
ABSTRACT - For Alain Resnais memory presents itself as something wide, where other elements of the human mind are involved, as imaginations and conscience. Reality and fantasy are intimately linked in the relation between past and present the director thinks and presents in his films. The expressions of memory thus take various forms and are configured by Resnais in different forms. This Dissertation intends to analyse and reflect on the expression of memory created by Alain Resnais in some of his films. Likewise, it seeks to understand the way he configures them cinematographically.
