É feita uma contextualização sócio-político-cultural de determinadas obras para piano de três compositores – Sergei Rachmaninov, Alexander Scriabin e Sergei Prokofiev – que representam três aspectos distintos da música pianística Russa no século XX. As suas obras são vistas sobre o fundo da tradição musical russa, os eventos históricos marcantes bem como tendências culturais gerais que de uma forma ou outra as influenciaram. São fornecidos exemplos musicais comentados, que ilustram algumas dessas influências. É
referida a percepção da obra dos compositores em contextos diferentes. No fim é feita uma generalização, traçando as principais diferenças e pontos em comum entre os compositores.
Abstract - A survey is made of the social, political and cultural context of given piano works by three composers – Sergei Rachmaninov, Alexander Scriabin and Sergei Prokofiev – representative of three different aspects in the XX century Russian piano music. Their works are viewed over the background of Russian musical tradition, significant historical events as well as general cultural tendencies that in one way or another affected them. Commented musical examples, that illustrate some of those tendencies, are supplied. The perception of the works of the composers in different contexts is referred to. In the end a generalization is made, in which it is shown the main differences and similarities between the composers.
