Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT - This reflection materializes the Work Project that consists of the creation and staging of a concert entitled Still Frank, with original texts by poet and playwright Daniel Jonas and music by Rui Lima, Sérgio Martins and Pedro Cardoso. The play belongs to Teatro Bruto’s program and was presented in TECA - Teatro Carlos Alberto, Porto, December 2010. With the creation of this scenic object I wish to reflect the intrinsic duality of the creation process, the relation between creator and creature, director and the show, actor with the character, reality and fiction. The creation as something that, coming from the individual, progressively takes shape in an autonomous entity that survives beyond the subject from which its originated and doubled and with which shares an identification. The concept of double, monster and the myth of 'Frankenstein' will underpin all the research and inquest for the creation of Still Frank and, in my theoretical reflection, properly distanced from the scenic object created. But this work doesn’t stop in the analysis and reflection of the directing process of Frank Still, he embodies my journey as a director, set designer and costume designer, inseparable from the artistic project of the company Teatro Bruto, born in the nineties in the city of Porto, and the artistic-sharing and identification of a core of creators with whom I collaborated.
