Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT - This dissertation aims to contribute to a fundamental reflection that remains urgent regarding the importance of performing arts in the social, personal, and artistic development of individuals and territories. In fact, it will only be possible to address these issues when we look at the national overview and feel that we are moving towards placing culture at the center of all territories as a fundamental pillar for their development. When this happens, this dissertation fulfills its mission and becomes a mere mirage of the past. In this regard, while there is still a path to be followed, this research focuses on finding the necessary foundation that supports the main theme. It proposes to highlight some studies and opinions, as well as analyze practical cases, examples, and projects that can serve as inspiration for a continued territorial investment. Along the way, the territory of the Municipality of Sesimbra is observed, and as it is not possible to prevent the contamination of other themes and issues, other chapters emerge that specifically address the role of cultural agents in the field of performing arts, the importance of participatory methodologies, and the role of the spectator.
