O presente trabalho de projeto visa sugerir uma interpretação sobre as potencialidades da luz cinematográfica. Essa interpretação vai ser fundamentada num estudo teórico sobre o papel da luz e da sombra no cinema, e de uma análise dos filmes Nosferatu e Psycho, procurando compreender os processos criativos relativos à iluminação elaborados pelos seus realizadores, F. W. Murnau e Alfred Hitchcock, respetivamente. Esta análise veio influenciar naturalmente o trabalho com a luz na curta-metragem Cativeiro que realizei.
ABSTRACT - The present project thesis aims to suggest an interpretation about the potentials of cinematographic light. This interpretation will be based on a theoretical study of the role of light and shadow in cinema, and an analysis of the films Nosferatu and Psycho, seeking to understand the creative processes related to lighting developed by their directors, F. W. Murnau and Alfred Hitchcock, respectively. This analysis naturally influenced the work with light in the short film Cativeiro that I directed.
