Dust released due to slaughterhouses activities is largely organic and can be contaminated with bacteria, fungi and endotoxin which may represent a health hazard upon inhalation. In addition several respiratory symptoms have been reported among the exposed workers. Taking this information in consideration a study was performed intending to assess the fungal contamination and particles exposure in poultry and bovine slaughterhouses.
