| dc.description.abstract | O artigo que aqui se propõe tem como objetivo dar conhecer o contributo do Centro Artístico Infantil (CAI) da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian para a Educação Artística em Portugal. As ações e dinâmicas do Centro foram reconstituídas através de análise documental e da realização de entrevistas a alguns elementos que integraram a equipa. O Centro surgiu em 1984, inserido no Serviço de Animação, Criação Artística e Educação pela Arte – ACARTE, por iniciativa de Madalena Perdigão, com o apoio de Natália Pais, coordenadora do Centro ao longo de 18 anos de funcionamento. As suas ações de carácter sensibilizador, informativo e formativo foram marcadas, inicialmente, pelos estudos e intervenções no campo da Educação pela Arte, abrangendo, posteriormente, a Arte/Educação e Educação Estética e Artística. Realizaram formações de carácter global ou específico no campo das artes e da educação para adultos, envolvendo docentes de todos os graus de ensino. O CAI estabeleceu-se como um espaço de experiência e reflexão nos campos da Arte e da Educação. Passados 30 anos da inauguração do CAI, pensamos ser fundamental para a compreensão da história da educação artística nacional a partilha deste estudo, com a esperança de que possa vir a despoletar novas abordagens sobre um espaço que foi uma escola nacional e refletiu as transformações no campo da educação artística ao longo das últimas décadas do século XX, deixando um forte legado para o século XXI. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This article aims at highlighting the key role played by the Children's Art Centre (CAI) of Calouste Gulbenkian‘s Foundation in Art Education in Portugal. By analysing primary sources and interviews conducted with a few elements of the team, we shed light on the programme of actions and dynamics of CAI. CAI was set up in 1984 within ACARTE – Service of Animation, Artistic Creation and Education through Art. The initiative was taken by Madalena Perdigão, with the support of Natália Pais, who coordinated the Centre during its 18 years of existence. At the outset of the project, the activities of awareness, information and training took into account studies and actions in the field of Education through Art. Later, Art / Education and Aesthetic and Artistic Education were also considered. CAI offered general and specific courses in the Arts and in Adult Education, involving teachers of any level of education. CAI established itself in the fields of Arts and Education as a unique space for experience and discussion. Three decades after the start-up of CAI, we reckon this case study is fundamental to understanding the history of Art Education in Portugal. Moreover, we hope it becomes a starting point for new researches on what may be considered a national school that has reflected the changes in the field of Art Education over the last decades of the twentieth century, leaving a major legacy for the twenty-first century. | pt_PT |
