Introdução: As instituições de saúde atuam num mundo focado na competência e qualidade. É importante que os serviços de radiologia desenvolvam um sistema de gestão da qualidade total, envolvendo toda a organização. Os padrões de acreditação são elaborados para estimular a melhoria contínua da qualidade dos cuidados prestados pelas instituições acreditadas. Deste modo, um programa de acreditação é importante para garantir consistência na prática clínica da Radiologia, aderindo aos padrões e diretrizes estabelecidos. A cultura de um determinado hospital/serviço pode influenciar a forma como os profissionais percebem o papel de um programa de acreditação na promoção e melhoria dos serviços de saúde. Objetivo: Traduzir e validar um instrumento e avaliar a perceção dos Técnicos de Radiologia de um Hospital público da cidade de Lisboa sobre o processo de Acreditação. Metodologia: Foi desenvolvido um estudo descritivo, correlacional e transversal através da utilização de um questionário de autopreenchimento. Foi utilizada uma escala do tipo Likert de 5 pontos e uma técnica de amostragem não probabilística. Na validação do instrumento avaliou-se a fiabilidade do questionário, a validade teórica do questionário e a validação do ajustamento do modelo teórico do questionário. Resultados: Participaram no estudo um total de 53 Técnicos de Radiologia. As propriedades psicométricas mostraram-se satisfatórias na avaliação da consistência interna e na validade teórica do questionário. Na validação do ajustamento do modelo teórico do questionário observou-se fragilidade no modelo proposto. Uma atitude positiva global em relação à acreditação foi demonstrada pelos participantes com concordância no impacto positivo do processo na melhoria dos cuidados de saúde ao utente. Resultados menos positivos foram obtidos no domínio relacionado com a utilização de recursos humanos. Conclusão: Os resultados sugerem a necessidade de reconhecer o desempenho da equipa demonstrado neste processo pela gestão do serviço para que os objetivos da instituição possam ser atingidos.
ABSTRACT: Background: Health institutions operate in a world focused on competence and quality. Radiology services must develop a total quality management system, involving the entire organization. Accreditation standards are designed to encourage continuous improvement in the quality of care provided by accredited institutions. Therefore, an accreditation program is important to ensure consistency in the clinical practice of Radiology, adhering to established standards and guidelines. The culture of a given hospital/service can influence the way professionals perceive the role of an accreditation program in promoting and improving health services. Objective: Translate and validate an instrument to evaluate the perception of Radiology Technicians at a public hospital in the city of Lisbon regarding the Accreditation process. Methods: A descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional study was developed using a self-completed questionnaire. A 5-point Likert scale and a non-probabilistic sampling technique were used. In validating the instrument, the reliability of the questionnaire, the theoretical validity of the questionnaire, and the validation of the adjustment of the theoretical model of the questionnaire were evaluated. Results: A total of 53 Radiology Technicians participated in the study. The psychometric properties proved to be satisfactory in evaluating the internal consistency and theoretical validity of the questionnaire. When validating the adjustment of the theoretical model of the questionnaire, weaknesses in the proposed model were observed. An overall positive attitude towards accreditation was demonstrated by participants with agreement on the positive impact of the process on improving healthcare for users. Less positive results were obtained in the area related to the use of human resources. Conclusions: The results suggest the need to recognize the team's performance demonstrated in this process by the service management so that the institution's objectives can be achieved.
