Abstract(s)
muitas vezes definidas pelas tecnologias do canal radio, do qual faz parte a antena.
The research and development of antennas is a very discussed topic nowadays. This development is made, not only but also, by following the tendencies of the market of consumer electronic equipment, in which products for personal use, such as smart-phones, smart-watches or any other gadget that makes use of wireless communication. In the many characteristics that define this products, their small footprint, higher energy efficiency and communication quality are determinants for its adoption. These characteristics are often defined by technologies and techniques of the radio channel, on which the antenna is part. This work is focused on the research of printed antennas, more properly the monopole type, being those suitable for mobile terminals. Two multiband antennas for Wi-Fi (2.5GHz and 5GHz) applications are developed, one with circular geometry and other with triangular geometry. The main objectives of this master thesis pass through demonstrate the projection of a simple antenna with single band, its transformation to a multiband antenna and the comparation of different geometries. The antennas are projected with the software Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Studio Suite, are then built and analysed at Telecommunications Institute of Aveiro.
