Abstract(s)
We live in an increasingly competitive world in professional terms, in which significant social changes have been affecting the strength and nature of work, making it increasingly difficult to reconcile personal, family and professional life, making WLB an extremely relevant issue in our society. The importance of this balance not only affects individuals, but also has considerable implications for organisations. It is therefore important to understand how to achieve this balance and which aspects influence it. This dissertation aims to analyse the relationship between the variables self-efficacy, proactivity, resilience, workaholism, job stress, leader member exchange, organisational support and teleworking (as antecedents) and life satisfaction, job satisfaction, turnover, proactive behaviour and individual performance (as consequences) with WLB and to understand how they act. Based on these variables, we constructed a questionnaire with 10 questions about WLB, 42 questions about its antecedents, 21 questions about its consequences and 8 questions of a personal and individual nature, in which we obtained 166 responses. After analysing the data using SPSS statistical software, the results show that the hypotheses relating to the variables resilience, workaholism, job stress, life satisfaction and turnover have been shown to have an impact on WLB, with resilience and life satisfaction showing a negative relationship and the others showing a positive relationship with WLB. Finally, the hypotheses relating to the variables self-efficacy, proactivity, leader member exchange, organisational support, teleworking, job satisfaction, proactive behaviour and individual performance did not show an impact on work-life balance and were therefore assumed to be unsupported hypotheses. The main limitations of this study are the small sample size, which makes it impossible to generalise the results. It is therefore suggested that future research use a larger sample and different variables.
