Abstract(s)
A investigação apresentada neste artigo está centrada no processo de conceção e desenvolvimento
de uma plataforma, que permite a participação das crianças na saúde ambiental das suas escolas. O processo
de conceção e desenvolvimento integrou-se num processo de investigação baseada em design (design-based
research), foi colaborativo, iterativo e situou-se no contexto das escolas de 1º ciclo do ensino básico
(primárias) portuguesas e dos seus problemas de saúde ambiental, bem como nas suas atividades curriculares
de educação em ciências. A plataforma foi concebida e desenvolvida para permitir a monitorização de
variáveis de saúde ambiental, as intervenções na saúde ambiental, e para incluir uma base de dados que
integra os dados de saúde ambiental adquiridos, registados e introduzidos pelas crianças na plataforma, com
as respetivas anotações, os blogues e documentos colaborativos das escolas. Desta forma, a estrutura da
plataforma permite o registo do processo de participação (pesquisa e intervenção) realizado por cada turma,
produzindo conhecimento sobre os problemas de saúde ambiental das escolas
Abstract: This paper is centered on the design and development process of a platform that supports children’s participation in schools’ environmental health. The design process was integrated in a designbased research process, collaborative, iterative, and situated in the context of Portuguese primary schools, and of its environmental health problems, as well as in primary schools’ science education curricular activities. The platform was design to support monitoring and action in environmental health, and will include a database, integrating the annotated environmental health data, acquired, registered and introduced by school children in the platform, schools’ blogs, and schools’ collaborative documents. This way, the structure of the platform allows the registration of the participatory process (science inquiry and intervention) carried out by each class, producing knowledge about the environmental health problems of schools.
