Esta dissertação analisará a capacitação logística de PME’S para atuação na grande distribuição, tendo como casos de estudo o setor hortícola e dos lacticínios de empresas da Ilha Terceira, Açores. Muitas PME’S (neste caso da Ilha Terceira, Açores) deparam-se com algumas dificuldades de entrada pelas exigências da grande distribuição, pois perante estes canais as PME’S têm de cumprir critérios rigorosos. O ambiente empresarial vivido nos dias de hoje é cada vez mais competitivo e complexo, isto também implica que a Logística e a Cadeia de Abastecimento das empresas tenha de ser cada vez mais competitiva e apta às mudanças do meio. Sendo cada vez mais a competição feita entre Cadeias de Abastecimento, é necessário perceber a ligação entre o alinhamento estratégico, as vantagens competitivas e a performance da empresa no contexto da crescente integração da Cadeia de Abastecimento. Por fim, algumas PME’S dos Açores já conseguiram superar as exigências da grande distribuição, sendo que interessa perceber como ultrapassaram as dificuldades inicias e perceber as dificuldades das PME’S que ainda não o conseguiram fazer.
This paper will exam the Logistic capacity of the SME’S for actuation on the large distribution, having as case studies companies of the sector of horticultural and dairy from Terceira island, in the Azores. Many SME’S (in this case in Terceira Island, Azores) struggle with some difficulties to be part of the large distribution due to the requirements of large distribution and have to fulfill stringent criteria. The empresarial environment lived now a days is increasingly competitive and complexed, this also implies that the Logistics and the Supply Chain of the companies have to be increasingly competitive and fit the environment changes. Since mostly the competition has been in the Supply Chains of the companies, it is necessary to understand the connection between the strategic alignment, the competitive advantages and the performance of the company in the context of the increasingly integration of the Supply Chain. Finally, some of the SME’S of the Azores have already overcome the demands of the large distribution, now it is important to understand how they overcome the initial difficulties and understand the difficulties of the SMEs that have not yet been able to do so.
