Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho de projeto completa a encenação That Pretty Pretty, ou a Peça de Violação, apresentada em novembro de 2010 no Teatro Taborda, no contexto do Mestrado de Teatro – ramo de Encenação da Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema. O espetáculo parte da peça That Pretty, Pretty; Or, the Rape Play da autora norteamericana Sheila Callaghan e dos temas violência, guerra, tortura, violação e medo, através de um olhar feminino, e aborda-os com humor negro. A abordagem teórica que aqui se propõe foca-se mais na representação do medo na peça referida. A análise e o estudo iniciam-se nos conceitos de representação e de medo, progredindo para uma análise dramatúrgica da peça e um estudo sobre a autora. De seguida são aplicados estes conhecimentos na encenação do espetáculo. É
desenvolvida uma dialética entre a dramaturgia e a encenação, a partir destes conceitos e referências.
Conclui-se que, com as referências e investigações efetuadas constrói-se uma estética de espetáculo específica e particular, onde se conjuga a violência do discurso com o humor negro, num estilo de distanciamento de representação de emoções. Mais se acrescenta que a complementar o presente trabalho, anexam-se um registo videográfico do espetáculo, bem como todo um conjunto de materiais
referenciais e documentais do processo, da investigação e do espetáculo.
ABSTRACT - This work completes the show That Pretty Pretty, ou a Peça de Violação, premiered in November 2010 at Teatro Taborda, in the context of Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema’s Master in Theatre. The show was made from the North American dramaturge Sheila Callaghan’s play That Pretty, Pretty; Or, the Rape Play. The subjects on the play are: violence, war, torture, rape and fear, with a feminist touch, presented with a lot of humor. This theoretical approach is focused on the representation of fear on the play and afterward on the show. For that, is made a study on the concepts of fear and representation. Later the investigation proceeds on the author and her work. After that is made an analysis on the play and on the show, with the representation of fear as a premise. It is settled an interchangeable relation between the dramaturgy and the direction of the show. For conclusion, with the references and the material brought from the investigations made on the themes it is build a show with a specific and particular shape, where the violence resides in the speech with a humorous tone, and the acting of the emotions is made with a style of detachment. In addition is there attached a video recording of the show and a bunch of material with references and documents of the process, investigation and the show.
