Abstract(s)
This internship report appears within the Master Course in Teaching Dance, of the School of Dance, of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, as the end of this cycle of studies. The present project was realized at the Academia de Música de Vilar do Paraíso on the educational year of 2020/2021. It was inserted in the Contemporary dance Technique, and it was part of the 9th degree, with nine female students, of the Basic Dance Course of Specialized Artistic Education (5th degree of Dance Education). The main goal of this project is to implement the methodologies strategies of dance composition through the different approaches of the stimuli, with the objective of developing students abilities and improving the methodologies in the process of dance composition. Thus, Choreographic Creation and Dance Composition was promoted through the choreographic composition tools, using the different stimuli as a resource throughout the working process and as a motivation for the final product. Based on Dance Composition, the main proposal is, that “Stimulate to Create” allows the students to acquire more skills and different strategies related to this theme. In conclusion of this internship was to create a choreographic work, which included some dance composition methodologies with an emphasis on the stimuli worked during the classes. The methodology elected was investigation-action method because this specific methodology keeps searching answers that goes to the commitment of the main goals of this project. The data collection instruments selected were: observation, logbook, unstructured interview, and video. It is worth to highlighting the challenge that is implicit in the development of the creative proposals that were presented to the students, through the different stimuli, during the working process, as well as the experimentation, reflexion and presentation of a certain form of dance, where associated to that, there is the creation, which implies a plurality of choreographic composition tools and methods that were used over this internship
