Abstract(s)
This report descriptively reflects my Supervised Professional Practice II (PPS II). This was prepared based on a portfolio that I built during the internship, which is presented in annex. I did my PPS I, in Kindergarten with a heterogeneous group – 3, 4 and 5 years old, in a socio-educational organization located in a residential neighborhood of Lisbon. During my internship, I observed the presence of music in children's daily lives and the impact it has on them, so I decided to delve deeper into the theme of the importance of music in child development. In this report, interest arose in investigating the theme of the importance of music in child development. It integrated twenty kindergarten teachers, aiming to (I) Find out the importance that educators attribute to music in the training of children in preschool education; (II) Knowing the representations of the educators in relation to the work to be developed in the Kindergarten in terms of Music; (III) Inquire about the difficulties that kindergarten teachers feel in working in the Music subdomain. In the developed methodology, the investigation presents a qualitative approach, having chosen the case study. The survey was used as a data collection technique. From the research carried out, I concluded that most educators consider music an integral part of children's daily lives, contributing to their cognitive and motor development, and simultaneously awakening their concentration.
