Abstract(s)
No Politécnico de Lisboa, em consonância com a estratégia de internacionalização do ensino superior português, acredita-se na internacionalização como imperativo institucional e poderoso instrumento de reflexão e melhoria contínua do desempenho e definição da identidade própria. A internacionalização constitui um dos quatro eixos estratégicos do plano quadrienal do IPL (2016-2019), e neste eixo assume particular importância a cooperação com instituições de ensino superior dos países de língua oficial portuguesa.
Com vista à implementação e consolidação desta estratégia, o Politécnico de Lisboa consolidou a sua participação em redes temáticas ligadas ao ensino superior nos países de língua oficial portuguesa. A participação nestas redes permitiu celebrar vários protocolos bilaterais, parcerias e projetos com Universidades e Institutos Superiores de Angola, Brasil, Cabo Verde, Macau, Moçambique e Timor-Leste. Destes protocolos tem resultado a ministração de ciclos de estudos e de ações de formação inicial e contínua para docentes e para outros profissionais nas áreas das artes, ciências da saúde, ciências empresariais, comunicação, educação e engenharia, com vista ao reforço da capitação técnica e científica das unidades de ensino e investigação e das competências dos profissionais, bem como vários intercâmbios de docentes, técnicos e estudantes.
Nesta comunicação, em que se fará um estudo de caso, uma vez que as questões e a sua operacionalização se vão circunscrever ao Politécnico de Lisboa, abordar-se-ão diversos aspetos, quer da implementação desta estratégia quer da sua concretização e resultados, abordando as dificuldades e as vantagens que esta cooperação acarreta, e refletir-se-á sobre as potencialidades desta prática como instrumento de melhoria da gestão institucional e promoção do desenvolvimento social e humano. A reflexão culminará numa análise SWOT em que se pretende evidenciar em que medida as estratégias utilizadas estão ou não a funcionar e quais as potencialidades de desenvolvimento social e humano associadas às relações institucionais.
ABSTRACT - At “Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa-IPL” (Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon), according to the internationalization strategy of Portuguese higher education, internationalization is expected to be an institutional goal as well as a powerful tool for reflexion and a growing improvement of performance and definition of one’s own identity. Internationalization is one of the four strategic policy statements of the IPL four-year planning (2016-2019), and the cooperation with higher education institutions in Portuguese-speaking countries is of most importance. When trying to implement and consolidate this strategy, the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon strength its participation in thematic networks linked to higher education in Portuguese-speaking countries. Cooperation in these networks allowed to established several bilateral agreements, protocols, partnerships and projects with universities of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Macau, Mozambique, and Timor-Leste. These protocols have resulted in the implementation of cycles of studies and initial training courses for teachers and other professionals in the areas of arts, health sciences, business sciences, communication, education, and engineering, with a scope to reinforce technical and scientific teacher’s competences, research units and professional skills, as well as teachers, staff and student’s mobility programs. In this paper, in which will present a case study, as the issues and its operationalization will be limited to the IPL, different matters will be addressed, both of the implementations of this strategy and its results, addressing the difficulties and advantages that this cooperation entails, and will reflect on the potential of this practice as an instrument for improving institutional management and promoting social and human development. The reflection will culminate in a SWOT analysis in which it aims to show to what extent the strategies used are or are not working and what are the potentials of social and human development associated with institutional relations.
