Abstract(s)
With globalization, the market has become very competitive, forcing companies to permanently restructure, implement new organizational models and create new reward systems capable of motivating employees to generate greater satisfaction with work. The present research aims at analyzing how a reward system influences job satisfaction, making the application to the case of Cape Verdean Savings Bank. To reach the previously defined objective, a review of the literature on the themes under study was carried out, aiming not only to identify the various components that should be included in a rewards system, but also to define which measurement instrument to use in measuring satisfaction of employees. According to the research, we opted to use Spector's Job Satisfaction Survey (1985), a measurement instrument that has been used in numerous scientific studies, so its validity and reliability are well tested. The results obtained with the application to the case of Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde show that the satisfaction with the rewards system by the employees who participated in the study positively affects both the satisfaction with the work and satisfaction with some of the subscales that integrate the Satisfaction index, namely satisfaction with payment, satisfaction with fringe benefits and satisfaction with variable rewards.
