ABSTRACT - Introduction: For its benefits on life quality the practice of regular physical activity has been advised over the last decades, however mainly the high-intensity one has been proven as being a risk factor to the stress urinary incontinence. Material and Methodology: Cross-sectional study. The CrossFit athletes were invited to fill a characterization questionnaire created by the researchers and an adapted questionnaire, International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire - Short Form, for which they gave consent. Results: For a total of n = 49 participants, 44.9% of them stated the existence of urinary incontinence during the CrossFit training activity; 85.7% empty the bladder before the sports activity, and 53.1% feel the necessity of training breaks to go to the toilet. 30.6% feels as normal as the urine leaks during high-intensity physical exercises. All the surveyed feel that there is a lack of information about the topic and 40.8% never heard about pelvic floor dysfunction. It was also possible to relate the stress urinary incontinence with parity, the type, and the number of deliveries. Discussion: The percentage of women with stress urinary incontinence in this study is high, however, the sample is small, causing the results to not show the reality of the urinary leaks during the training practice in the CrossFit women athlete world, nevertheless the strategies used by the participants before and during the training practice can change the complains perception, assuming that way that the number of women suffering from stress urinary incontinence can be superior to the results obtained by the study. The lack of knowledge about the pelvic floor function and the Pelvic Floor Dysfunction by the participants can also neglect the complaints, potentially increasing the chances of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction in the future. Conclusion: This study tries to prove the high occurrence of urinary incontinence in CrossFit athletes. The high-intensity training, the parity, and the type of delivery come as possible risk factors into the urinary incontinence appearance.
