Abstract(s)
The ability to generate original ideas for process, product, and service innovation has been proclaimed as a key for organizations to gain and maintain competitive advantage. The general objective of this document is to identify and integrate the characteristics of creative potential, through the students of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (IPL). It was based on some studies already carried out in an academic environment (Piteira, 2016; 2018) that inspired the performance of the analysis model, as the circumscription of the empirical field. Thus a dimension of creative potential can be a variable of students' motivation for creating new business, such as guiding the future future of their own employment. Two schools of the IPL group were selected: The Institute of Accounting and Administration (ISCAL) and the School of Social Communication (ESCS). The study assumes a qualitative nature, in a spirit of exploratory research. Thus, the methodology of the case study was followed, and a pilot study was carried out at ISCAL; which was later constituted in the first study of this investigation. The main technique of data collection was a semi-structured interview, completing the documentary and information analysis of the sites of the two schools; and its analysis of content. The cases were heard and compared. The results show that IPL students' development potentials are based on a large number of students, and that they have an integrated, socialized academic environment and activities that present the forms of reasoning, are motivated by personal research and seek to undertake with a strategic vision, taking a proactive approach. The present work is a study of interest as an example of study, as it is done for the future of the investigations in this problematic.
