Abstract(s)

However, the production environment around the automotive sector can be one of the most troublesome because it’s about production of very detailed, and sometimes very tiny, parts. In this sense, the purpose of this dissertation is to apply Kaizen to the reality of a company in the automotive sector and demonstrate by applying the continuous improvement philosophy it’s possible for the company to improve their internal processes, on a continuous basis, reducing costs and avoiding waste. For the demonstration of the above mentioned, the methodology chosen for the dissertation is a case study. It can be concluded the company selected for this case study was able to reduce costs related to wastes, proportionally to sales, even though it never fully achieved the desired results.
