Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT - The Curricular Internship presented in this Internship Report, executed within the scope of the Master's Degree in Dance Teaching, was held at the Conservatório de Dança do Vale do Sousa- (CDVS) integrated in the subject of Contemporary Dance Technique. Its practical application was in the 3rd cycle of vocational education, in the 2016/2017 academic year. The main objective was to improve the performance in dance, combining the technique of contemporary dance with physical training, through the application of a specific physical training program that aimed to develop central skills and motor skills, such as strength, flexibility, motor coordination and physical resistance. The specific physical training program was selected after an individual observation of the students and a general assessment of the class. In the program four functional training circuits were inserted, two of which worked to strengthen the central nucleus and the rest focused on the development of force. The sample consisted of a total of 23 students, 22 girls and 1 boy, from the third cycle of vocational education, aged between 12 and 15 years. The methodology chosen for the application of this work plan was action-research. The work developed and applied proved to be efficient and effective, as can be seen in the interpretation of the results, emphasizing that the students in general improved all the skills that were worked. It is concluded, therefore, the importance of functional training as a complement to the contemporary dance technique and its contribution to an improvement in the technical and artistic performance of the students of the CDVS.
