This dissertation aims to assess the feasibility and impact of implementing a premium rural tourism unit in Montargil, in the municipality of Ponte de Sor. The research combines a literature review on entrepreneurship, rural tourism and business plan methodologies with recent statistical and institutional data. The business plan includes external and internal analyses (PEST, Porter’s Five Forces, VRIO, Value Chain), as well as a positioning strategy based on authenticity, sustainability and premium experience. Market segmentation, marketing-mix and an implementation roadmap were developed, complemented by financial projections covering income statement, cash flows and feasibility indicators (NPV, IRR and Payback). Results confirm that the project is financially viable, generating economic value in the medium term, despite cost pressures in the first year. At the social level, it contributes to territorial cohesion, job creation and the valorisation of local heritage. It is concluded that the rural tourism unit in Montargil may serve as a replicable model for other low-density regions in Portugal.
