Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT - It is the ancient relationship between music and literature, especially between singing and poetry. The voice is the only instrument that can express a semantic content. The word takes shape on a melody, still earning more sense for the emotional weight that the music conveys. The redondilhas and sonetos of Luis Vaz de Camões, the most studied Portuguese poet to date, have been used by many composers throughout the twentieth century. From this important relationship between composers and poetry, will be addressed in this paper some difficulties in Scholar singing in Portuguese, in this case adapted to its choral performance. Some choral pieces for two important composers in the history of Portuguese Music, Fernando Lopes-Graça and Luís de Freitas Branco were chosen. The performance of these pieces presented some problems of articulation and vocal technic for which we sought solutions that would favor its execution and perception.
