No presente artigo procede-se à análise acerca dos processos de investigação multidisciplinares, tendo em conta as particularidades inerentes ao campo da saúde e a relação que se estabelece entre saúde e sociedade. Começa-se por enquadrar a multidimensionalidade e complexidade que envolvem o campo da saúde, só passível de ser entendido, em toda a sua amplitude e totalidade, através da mobilização de conhecimentos provenientes das diferentes áreas disciplinares. Contudo, apesar de a comunidade científica ter vindo a reforçar a consciência da necessidade de produção de um conhecimento mais global e alargado, a tendência geral parece apontar no sentido (inverso) da disciplinaridade e do especialismo científico, com efeitos na territorialização e fechamento das equipas de investigação. Neste contexto, considera-se a reconfiguração da relação entre saúde e sociedade e o espaço do contributo das ciências sociais e da sociologia em particular nos processos de investigação multidisciplinares em saúde.
ABSTRACT - In this article, I analyze the multidisciplinary research, regarding the particularities of the field of health and the relationship established between health and society. It begins by framing the multidimensionality and complexity that involves the field of health, which can only be understood, in all its breadth and totality, through the mobilization of knowledge from the different disciplinary areas. However, although the scientific community has reinforced the conscience of the need to produce a more global and broader knowledge, a general trend seems to indicate in the (inverse) sense of disciplinarily and scientific specialism, with effects on the territorialization and closure of the research teams. In this context, the reconfiguration of the relationship between health and society and the place of the contribution of the social sciences, and, in particular, of sociology in the processes of multidisciplinary research in health.
