Abstract(s)
A telenovela é o produto audiovisual português que domina o horário mais importante da televisão e que alcança mais audiência diariamente, o que justifica a sua importância no que diz respeito às temáticas e assuntos abordados uma vez que representam a forma se como organiza a sociedade a quem são dirigidas; os seus valores, costumes e debates sociais. A violência doméstica é uma problemática largamente conhecida e preocupante na sociedade portuguesa, apresentando cada vez mais números significativos e, resultando em homicídio das vítimas. Desta forma, os objetivos deste estudo passam por compreender, através de um cruzamento dos dados representativos de violência doméstica em Portugal com uma análise detalhada das representações dessa temática nas telenovelas exibidas na televisão ao longo dos últimos dez anos, a forma como o tema foi espelhado para o público das telenovelas.
ABSTRACT: Telenovela is the portuguese audiovisual product that dominates the portuguese prime time and major time slots, as well has having high daily ratings, validating the importance of the themes and subjects it addresses, since it represents the way society is shaped to its audience; their core values, morals and social debates. With Domestic violence being a well-known topic in the portuguese society, having a considerable amount of cases, some leading to homicide, the target of this study is to understand - by crossing the data on domestic violence in Portugal with a detailed study of its depiction on telenovelas in the last 10 years - the accuracy and veracity of the portrayal shown to the telenovela's audience.
