Esta dissertação é uma análise da representação do espaço no cinema de Jia Zhangke e a sua relação com as personagens. Sob o ponto de vista das reflexões de autores como André Bazin e Cecília Mello, entre outros, o corpus submetido à análise é o fihne Sanxia Haoren (Sfill lifè, 2006), que expressa a transformação das paisagens de certas regiões da China contemporânea, mesclando cenário natural com espaços destruídos e reconstruídos pela acção humana. A análise procura ressaltar aspectos em que o estilo formal do realizador toma a ambiência espacial como uma das matérias-primas do filme.
ABSTRACT - This dissertation is an analysis of the representation of space in Jia Zhangke's cinema and its relationship with the characters. From the point of view of the reflections of authors like André Bazin and Cecilia Mello, among others, the corpos submitted for analysis is the film Sanxia Haoren (Still lifè, 2006), which expresses the transformation of the landscapes of certain regions of contemporary China, combining natural scenery with spaces destroyed and reconstructed by htunan action. The analysis seeks to highlight aspects in which the director's formal style takes the spatial environment as one of the raw materiais of the film.
