- Implementation of the INSPIRE Directive on road infrastructure in PortugalPublication . Soares, Inês; Matos Martins, PauloThe present work intends to contribute to the better understanding of the framework and the conditions and consequences of the implementation process of INSPIRE Directive, on the Portuguese National Road Infrastructure. The main objectives are: Understanding the INSPIRE Directive and comprise the reasons that led to the creation of a European Spatial Data Infrastructure (ESDI); Analyze the application of the Directive to the Portuguese national road infrastructure, including understanding the role that the national regulator should play in the implementation process; Identify the benefits and obstacles in the implementation process, as well as the roadmap of tasks that must be applied to the measures to the existing data structures so that they meet the INSPIRE specifications; Develop a pilot-project of a web view service for the provision of INSPIRE data on road infrastructure; To assess the potential use of the INSPIRE Directive in further standardization process of the Portuguese transport systems.
