- Establishing standard operating procedures for isolation, characterizing and preservation of cells from oral potentially malignant disorders: a concept project proposalPublication . Costea, Daniela Elena; Ladeira, Carina; Vandis, Vera; Kozlakidis, ZisisStandard operating procedures (SOP) are crucial for the isolation, characterization, and biobanking of cells from tissues due to several key reasons: consistency and reproducibility, quality control, data integrity and Traceability, safety and ethics, resource efficiency, cross-training and knowledge transfer, regulatory compliance, publication and collaboration, and long-term research. This project aims to establish standard operating procedures (SOP) for isolating, characterizing, and biobanking cells from oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs).
- The INTERCEPTOR working group 5 on biobanking aspects for biological tissues from oral potentially malignant disordersPublication . Costea, Daniela Elena; Ladeira, Carina; Vandis, Vera; Kozlakidis, ZisisStandard operating procedures (SOP) are crucial for the isolation, characterization, and biobanking of cells from tissues. However, some challenges persist in OPMDs. The following will be discussed as part of the Working Group 5 (WG5) activities: biological heterogeneity, methodological heterogeneity, data integrity and Traceability, and supporting precision medicine research. Purpose: One of the main aims of the Interceptor grant working group 5 is to evaluate and prioritize researcher needs on biobanking aspects for biological tissues from Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders (OPMDs). To this end, the networking and exchange of ideas and expertise would be encouraged, leading to a second stage towards a more formal evaluation of the biobanking priorities within the IMPD research and clinical fields.
