A presente dissertação foi elaborada no âmbito do Mestrado em Jornalismo, da Escola Superior de Comunicação Social do Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa. O estudo procura, em primeiro lugar, refletir sobre o fenómeno terrorista, que encontra expressão em Portugal com a emergência de um grupo autodenominado de Forças Populares 25 de Abril. Num segundo momento, exploramos as dinâmicas dos media saídos da Revolução de Abril 1974, nomeadamente da imprensa e televisão portuguesas. A investigação, centrada nos anos 1980 e 1984, tem como objetivo perceber quais as práticas jornalísticas da época, bem como o destaque dado aos acontecimentos das Forças Populares 25 de Abril, nos media portugueses. Para tal, fazem parte da nossa análise quatro jornais nacionais distintos: Diário de Lisboa, Diário Popular e A Capital (diários); O Diabo (semanário); e ainda um canal de televisão, a RTP.
ABSTRACT: The following dissertation has been put together as a final step of the master degree in Journalism at the Higher School of Communication and Media Studies. The study intends to bring a new light on the terrorist phenomenon, which occurred in Portugal with the emergence of a group called Forças Populares 25 de Abril. On the other hand, we explore the different dynamics of the media after the April 25th Revolution. Focusing on the period from 1980 to 1984s, this research aims to understand which were the journalistic practices of this period, as well as the focus that was given to the group Forças Populares 25 de Abril, by the Portuguese media. For this puspose, we analysed four different newspapers [(Diário de Lisboa, Diário Popular and A Capital (daily newspapers); O Diabo (weekly newspaper)]; and a tv channel (RTP).
