Abstract(s)
de acordo com as seguintes categorias: grau de sofisticação das resoluções;
comunicação matemática; e a cooperação/interação do grupo.
ABSTRACT The present document reports an intervention conducted on a class of the third grade and it has also an investigation. This class belongs to a private institution that follows the guidelines of the Modern School Movement (Movimento da Escola Moderna). Therefore it’s regulated by the cooperation, communication and democratic participation of the students. Regarding the investigation, the main goal of this study is to understand how the student individual work can contribute to the group operations, and also the way those group operations can contribute to the individual operation. Specifically, I pretend to respond the following questions: (1) Which way can the individual work of the student take advantage of the group work during a operation task? (2) In which way can the group work helps each member during an operation task? The study follows a qualitative methodology in order to understand more this phenomenon. Therefore, I choose the document review (PCT and students resolutions), field notes, interview and participant observation. During the intervention, four experiences were made and they were analyzed according the following categories: sophistication of the resolutions; mathematical communication; and group cooperation/interaction. I choose a heterogeneous student group, so I could make a more rich and diversified reflection. During the experiences implemented, I always integrated this student group, so this investigation was an action-investigation. In the end of the investigation I made some conclusions, namely that the impact of the group organization is due, especially, to the nature of the task, which affects directly the predisposition. The individual dimension also enriches the group work, but we can see also the inverse. In fact, after explorations in group, the students redefine strategies and ways of think that gradually resemble the ways of think of the group. In addition, I present an evaluation of the student learning, as well as the general goals of the Intervention Plan, followed by a study evaluation.
