Bonacho, Fernanda2018-01-222018-01-222016-11BONACHO, Fernanda do Rosário Farinha - Eduardo: a multimedia story by a Swiss army knife journalist. In: International Conference on Digital Media and Textuality (ICDMT), Bremen, Germany (Universität Bremen), 2016 (3-5 november)http://hdl.handle.net/10400.21/7958One thing that cannot be denied is that whereas there have been countless online publications before the world wide web, it has been the late development of the web that transformed communication patterns and, particularly information textuality and the journalistic arena. Among profound and unceasing changes, one can stand out the online versions of traditional media outlets, but obviously the originally online stories, created to be experienced as multimedia journalistic pieces. It is within this field that Eduardo's story belongs, in the prize winner piece "O que é isso de vida independente" [What is that of an independent life?] by the Portuguese multimedia journalist Vera Moutinho. Contributing to the national newspaper "O Público", Vera Moutinho is a young multimedia journalist, who is known for creating narrative experiences that elect the visual and sound plasticity as drivers of her journalistic work. In this paper I will explore her Eduardo's story, in order to examine how significance is built across multiple media and unfolds undertones throughout each moment.engMultimedia narrativeMultimedia journalismDigital textualityOnline creation and readingDigital literacyEduardo: a multimedia story by a Swiss army knife journalistconference object
