Abstract(s)
A imprensa regional é aquela que, perante as alterações registadas no setor,
nomeadamente as decorrentes da globalização, melhores condições dispõe para vingar
no futuro.
Este estudo procura descrever e refletir sobre a forma como o jornal O Ribatejo
se apresenta enquanto órgão de imprensa regional. Para este efeito procedemos à
constituição de uma amostragem, de 52 exemplares, relativos ao ano de 2012. Estes
números foram examinados a partir de uma grelha de análise previamente concebida,
com a qual pensamos poder demonstrar algumas características centrais deste órgão de
imprensa regional.
Para além de um olhar atento sobre o estado atual e os desafios futuros da
imprensa regional, este estudo procura refletir sobre algumas ideias e conceitos centrais
inerentes à temática como sejam as questões da proximidade e o efeito da globalização
na comunicação social regional e local.
ABSTRACT: Regarding all the changes on the contemporary media sector, mainly the ones that arise from globalization, the regional press seems to be the one which gathers all the conditions to survive. This study looks forward to describe and reflect about the way the local newspaper O Ribatejo presents itself as a regional press newspaper. Therefore, for the present study, we analyzed a series of 52 copies from 2012. This set of newspapers has been scanned starting from an analysis’ grid previously designed in order to demonstrate some central features about this regional press newspaper. Besides taking a closer look about the current condition of this organ and future challenges of regional press, this study addresses some ideas and key points concerning this subject like the value of proximity and the effect of globalization on regional and local media.
